AHA Big Brew Day… A Convergence of Cincy Homebrewers

April 19, 2011

On Saturday May 7th, a convergence of Cincinnati area homebrewing clubs, including BBL, CMI and others will be hosted by Rivertown Brewing Co in Lockland for AHA Big Brew Day!

The official recipe is an East Coast IPA, Wit and Porter (get the recipes and more info here ). Rivertown Brewing will be making at least a 7 barrel batch of East Coast IPA on Big Brew Day. Rivertown will provide the finished wort, you provide the yeast and the fermenter. You must be a BBL member and have signed up for a wort share. If this is you, you will need to bring a vessel to take your wort home.

NOTE: The fermenter/vessel MUST NOT BE GLASS as Rivertown does not allow glass inside the brewery, so you’ll need to bring a plastic bucket with lid, Better Bottle or a clean/sanitized keg for transporting your wort share.

Brewers are encouraged to bring their own brewing equipment out for the day and brew in the parking lot. Plenty of room, water provided, etc. Tents are a good idea in case of inclement weather.

As always with this group there’s bound to be plenty of food. A dish to share is appreciated.
