Club Elections!

The Bloated Board holds elections for board members every two years.  This year is an election year and we are seeking new club members for the board.  It’s good to have a rotation of club members on the board.  Nominations will officially be during the September club meeting with elections during the November meeting.  Here is a quick rundown of the different offices we are looking to fill and a brief description of their duties:

This officer will normally conduct the meetings. The president is responsible for securing the meeting place. Often, the president is the one who plans the meetings and arranges for an interesting demonstration or discussion.  The president reviews the financial records of the club quarterly or as needed.

Vice President

This officer assists the president as necessary. The vice president may organize the tasting portion of the meeting, ensuring that there is an adequate supply of beer.

This officer keeps the minutes of the meeting (if necessary), and may also edit and publish the club newsletter or meeting notices. The secretary also maintains the official club membership list. The secretary corresponds with other clubs and appropriate bodies.

This officer handles the finances. The treasurer collects dues and sees that they are deposited in the club’s accounts. The treasurer keeps the financial records.

The board also is responsible for appointing officers for other positions need in the club such as Membership Coordinator, Minister of Propaganda and Grillmeister.

If this sounds interesting to you, let someone know that you are interested or talk to one of the current board members if you have questions.

Have you recently toured a brewery, been to a new favorite beer bar, or have some other beer related news you’d like to share with the club? Let us know and we’ll include it in the newsletter.
