Club Robust Porter Recipe Competition

At the February club meeting, we will have a fixed recipe competition on the Robust Porter recipe built by group collaboration at the September meeting.  With a fixed recipe, the only differences in the entries would be based on the brewing process so this is a terrific way to get feedback on your brewing technique.  Right now is the perfect time to make a porter so it is ready in February plus a porter is the perfect beer to get you through a Cincinnati winter.

SG:  1.059 (style 1.048-1.065)
SRM:  35 (style 22-42)
IBUs:  46 (style 25-60)

8.0 lbs. Pale Ale Malt
1.0 lbs. Munich Malt
0.5 lbs. Crystal 40
0.5 lbs. Special B
0.75 lbs. Chocolate Malt
0.38 lbs. Roasted Barley
0.75 lbs.  Flaked Wheat

0.8 oz. Magnum 12.5% (10 AAU) pellets 90 minutes
0.5 oz. US Fuggle 5% (2.5 AAU) pellets 20 minutes
0.5 oz. US Fuggle 5% (2.5 AAU) pellets 5 minutes
